As you may know, we've been working for two summers already on revitalization and expansion up at the Ridge.
And we have even more projects coming down the pipeline!
In the coming days and weeks we will be releasing several opportunities to bid on different projects around the lodge and on the mountain itself.
So excited for all the changes and improvements coming!
First up: we have opportunities to bid on a erosion and slope correction project to fix a few trouble spots around the mountain and improve our liftline.
And second is to give our great lodge a long overdue facelift.
The Ft. St. James Ski Club is seeking a talented individual to join our team on a summer project to help grow the tourism capacity of Murray Ridge Ski Area and ultimately, the Regional District of Bulkley Nechako region of British Columbia. Are you passionate about summer recreation and Mountain Biking? Are you passionate about tourism and destination development? Are you interested in contributing to the development of the summer tourism industry and building a diversified economy for the region? Are you a student heading into summer break?
Responsibilities:
Work with Ft. St. James Ski Club to design and develop summer operations programming
Support the FSJ Club in marketing and planning for summer revenue generating opportunities
Conduct research into necessary health and safety requirements for summer mountain bike operations
Develop a marketing strategy to launch summer mountain bike operations
Conduct Research and feasibility assessments of summer mountain bike operations
Planning and delivery events to promote our facility
Skills:
Good organizational skills
Ability to work well with a team and alone
Self motivated
Problem solving
Keen to work in the outdoors in inclement weather
Valid Class 5 Driver License and own transportation; negotiable
Must be available to work some evenings and weekends
Must be aged 15 to 30
Assets:
Lover of mountain biking and the great outdoors
Local to the region
An interest in working in the tourism sector as a career
A passion for non profits
Job type: Full time, seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks
Salary : $20.00/hr
Shift: 35hr work week, 7hrs/ day

Slush cup weekend is upon us! Lifts run 10-4 for the remainder of the season.

12pm : Hat Lake hurl
130PM: Bathtub races
3PM: Slush Cup
4PM: Live music
all weekend: smores and fire pit, snowsnakes, buddy races on Molestar.

Tomorrow March 1st we are open! We have an extra school group coming in tomorrow so we are open to the public. Conditions are going to be great see you there! Starting this week we will be open 930-330 on week days and 10-4 on weekends to enjoy the sunlight in the afternoons!
Its is dumping, over 12cm this morning already. Currently -14C and warming! Going to be an epic day!
Challenge for all ages! We have three categories for this event.
Base Camp: Under 10yo, ski ten runs from the top to ski the height of Everest Base Camp.
Everest Challenge: 17 runs from the top to ski the height of MT. Everest . Open to all ages
Sherpa Challenge: Ski all 22 runs on the Mountain.
Lifts run 8-430. Competitors must be registered ahead of time. Once registered we will send you a liability waiver.
